Who is up for some Grilled Cheese Sandwich? Some time back, I was given the awesome opportunity to come down to Missus and try out the delicious and mouth-watering bakes. The fairly new Muslim-owned cafe is located along Hamilton Road. The entire Hamilton Road is bustling with cafes and bakeries, from the likes of Lucid to For The People and La Levain. Missus joins the list with a speciality in Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and some Mid-Eastern influenced desserts.
The vintage-style cafe is owned by public figure Malaque Mahdaly and Syarif Sleeq. The interior design is inspired by the owners’ travel experiences in Australia, with a laid-back and cozy ambiance in a vintage-inspired Victorian-style interior setting.
Food at Missus
Missus rose to fame for their selection of grilled cheeses, with flavours including their Dynamite Melt. This sandwich consists of Missus's signature cheese blend, caramelised onions, vegemite, roasted garlic tomato soup sandwiched between crispy bread toasts. This sandwich is served with sweet chilli tapioca chips. How yummy?
In Missus's menu, you can also find a selection of scones such as Plain Scone, Cranberry Scone and their Caramelised Onion & Feta Scone which is part of their October Special.
Complimented with clotted cream and seasonal jam, Missus's Plain Scone is perfect for tea break, or if you are having a meeting over coffee.
Part of their October Special is the Caramelised Onion & Feta Scone. Yes you heard that right! Missus have curated menus for every month. Do note that the curated menu is only available for weekends.
A good selection of bakes are available on display each day, such as Scones (Plain and Scallion & Cheese), Potato & Leek Focaccia and Sweet & Spicy Focaccia.
Missus impressed me with their wide variety of toasties, fresh bakes, and sides that seemed to be priced more affordable than most other cafes. I liked how they are a bakery and cafe concept-in-one, so everything you get is fresh-out-of-the-oven. I’ll be back to try the other grilled cheeses and pastries lined up at the glass display!
