Momolato : Looking for a gelato (a lotta) fun?

Homegrown gelato brand Momolato has opened a cafe at bustling Haji Lane. The brand is known for their artisanal, all-natural gelato that comes a wide range of flavours from cheddar cheese to Milo dinosaur.

Prior to its cafe opening, Momolato’s products which include gelato cakes and Merlion-shaped popsicles can only be purchased from its online store.

But now, the new cafe will allow both fans and new customers alike to experience the cold treats in a lush, tropical-themed environs a short walk from Bugis MRT.

Cafe-exclusive desserts

Gelato is certainly the cafe’s mainstay, and the flavour options are many. Aside from that, Momolato also has other interesting offerings on the menu.

Artisanal Gelato

Momolato cafe offers a selection of gelato flavours that can be broadly categorised into three groups:

  • Signature: go-to classics

  • Keto: no added sugar, diabetic-friendly

  • Premium: exquisite ingredients

Signature flavours cost S$4.90 for a single scoop and S$8 for a double.

Premium flavours are an additional S$1 per scoop, whilst Keto flavours are an additional S$2.50 per scoop.

Check out the gelato flavours below:

Waffle cones

You can either choose to have the gelato in a cup or on a waffle cone. The latter comes in three options: butter cone (+S$1.50), pandan cone (S$1.50), and keto cone (S$3).

Waffles & Croffles

If you’d rather sit down while eating your gelato, you can have it on a bed of waffles or croffles from S$6.60.

Even these come in a variety of options which makes choosing all the more fun. We’re especially curious about the Banana (S$6.90) and Gula melaka (S$6.90).

For diners on a keto diet, there’s the low carb-high fat but relatively pricey Keto waffles (S$12).

Popsicles

Momolato’s cute and colourful popsicles are also available in-store at S$4.90 a pop 😜

These cold treats on sticks are mostly crafted using fresh fruit juices and fruit slices for the ultimate pick-me-up.

Flavours range from the refreshing such as Mango Passionfruit with Strawberry slices to the polarizing like the Maoshanwang.

Popsicle Spritzers

If you’re feeling particularly parched mid-afternoon, pop right in and order a Popsicle Spritzer (from S$7.80). It’s basically a popsicle and drink hybrid; a glass of soda is served on the side with some garnish for a DIY fun.

Keto/Sugar-free Smoothies

To top it off, keto beverages are also available in the menu at surprisingly okay prices.

Made using Momolato’s own keto gelato, the current flavours on the menu are Strawberry Cheesecake (S$8), Mango Yogurt Pomelo (S$8) and Chocolate Coconut Banana (S$8).

Momolato also serves coffee and tea, but where’s the fun in that.
